The Dooslan Stane is another landmark connect with Paisley’s textile past as it was used as a soapbox by the Weavers Union in the South of Paisley. The stone now sits in Brodie Park where it is used as the congregating point for the annual Sma’ Shot parade, which commemorates a 19th century dispute between weavers and employers over payment for a ‘sma’ shot’, a small cotton thread.- Read less
